The Lanning House (a post Civil War home built by Dr. Lanning) and the 1920 Annex are a part of the Salem Museum called the John Hay Center. Hay was President Lincoln’s secretary. Salem is 45 minutes from Louisville, Kentucky and near Madison Spring Mill Park and Corydon’s state capitol. Great for genealogical researchers, history lovers, and antique buffs. Seven rooms available.

Special attention is given to genealogical researchers. History books of the county, maps, telephone calls to local families, help finding cemeteries and the courthouse are all part of a Lanning House stay.
