Featured in Bon Appetit’s 1994 Historic Christmas Inns and in the New York Times Travel Section (May 8, 1994). Selected by Fodors as one of the best Bed and Breakfasts in America and by Boston Magazine as having the “”Best Victoriana”” in New England.

Allen House Inn is an 1886 Stick-style Victorian on 3 acres in the heart of Amherst. Accommodations for our guests include spacious bed chambers with private baths, telephones and central air conditionings. “”Aesthetic Movement””, decor, period art, fine antiques and art wall coverings are historically and artistically featured. We serve a full formal breakfast and an afternoon – evening tea with refreshments at guest’s convenience.

The Allen House Inn is located across the road from the Emily Dickinson Homestead and is within walking distance to Amherst College, the University of Massachusetts and fine galleries, museums, theatres, concerts, shops, cafes and restaurants. Hampshire, Smith and Mount Holyoke Colleges are within a 10 mile drive. The rich history and culture of the area along with the scenic beauty and the artistic and leisure activities make the Greater Amherst, Northampton and Berkshire region a year-round New England travel destination.
