Historic Falcon Manor
Relive the 1890s in one of the South’s finest Victorian mansions, honored in 1997 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as first prize B&B winner of its Great American Home Award for outstanding restoration.
This 10,000 square foot mansion is a favorite getaway for honeymoons, birthdays, anniversaries, or simply escaping the stress of modern life. History buffs, antique collectors, and people who’ve been involved in restoration projects themselves especially enjoy experiencing the place.
Rich colors and museum-quality antiques create an atmosphere of friendly elegance. A sweeping staircase beckons guests to explore, while a 100-foot-long, wrap-around “”gingerbread”” veranda invites them to rock in the shade of century-old trees and sip Falcon Manor’s signature pink lemonade.
Inside the mansion are two downstairs guest rooms, with a three-bedroom suite upstairs. The Honeymoon Suite is in the original kitchen across the breezeway from the main house. The Carriage House Room and the General Manager’s Cottage next door, with its Jacuzzi Suite and two-bedroom Cottage Suite, also provide an extra measure of private.
Candlelight dinners are offered Friday and Saturday evenings in the elegant Victorian Carriage House dining room.
McMinnville’s easily accessible location halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga — surrounded by the Cumberland mountains and five gorgeous state parks — makes it an ideal Tennessee vacation base.
